I wrote Peace, Love, Etc. a couple years ago while bored at my piano during Christmas break. It illustrates a complicated cycle of healing during what's a supposedly happy period in the year, and I can't wait for you guys to hear it!

Last December
When you were here and everything felt better
Funny how things fall apart
When the shoulder that I gave was colder than the wind outside
Biting words, insults, and endless fights
So much for silent nights when all I do is cry
I hope you’re moving on
I’ll wish you that much
I hope you’re doing good
Peace, love, etc.
Wishing you merry Christmas still,
I said it then and I always will for you
And I hope this season treats you better than I do
They’re putting ups trees and all the lights are aglow
Kid’s are laughing, and running through piles of snow
And I think back to a year ago
When you were here standing right by side
Singing seasonal songs by the open fire
But now I’m singing on my own
I hope you’re moving on
You deserve that much
Wanted to let you know
That I’m sorry because I fear
I was the one who did you wrong
Now I understand that it’s all my fault
And I hope your holidays are happier this year
